Lady in the Lake Fantasy Photoshoot | Denver CO
…In all actuality it was an inflatable pool, but you use what you got!
The overall theme and feel for this shoot was a romantic, fantasy realm, angelic effect with a little dash of divine for texture. Originally, this setup came to my attention from a very talented photographer, Irene Rudnyk, on her YouTube Channel and I’ve been waiting for the right moment to attempt this setup.
The idea is simple as long as you have the necessary tools and a ton of free time; mostly filling the pool. That you can get this magnificent effect from $2 watercolor paints, random flower strands from hobby stores and an inflated pool is why we love the magic of photography so much. For a simple trial the effects are stunning. I also found that fusing multiple colors helped bring out the deepness and beauty of the water. I used three blends of color: turquoise, Rose, and Purple Lake. Play off the attire that the model is wearing for the best effects. I used a cloth to line the pool for more depth too. I used it without and found it made the water either look too bright, or at times it felt like it was just a kiddie pool and didn’t fit what I wanted.
I had an amazing crew to work with on this theme and I couldn’t have asked for better…minus the rainstorm that quickly came and cut this shoot very short. Cassidy, Kitty, and Roisin are three amazing people and models that helped bring this to light.
